Connected Underbed Boxes Looks Sweet! Useful Too!

It is very common to have one underbed box mounted near the cab on a flatbed, but take a look at this approach. Here is a series of underbed boxes of varying sizes that are connected with a wheel skirt insert making it look like it is not a flatbed at all, but something else. In this case, the bed is a 14' stakebed from Harbor Truck Bodies in Brea, CA. Just think of all the stuff you can put in all those compartments which are 18" deep! Then do it again on the other side. What a great way to be able to carry things that are kept out of sight and out of the weather while doing the things you need to do with the stakebed. A great combination!

It's A Bird, It's A Plane, It's A Saw Body!

This is an interesting combination of things that Harbor Truck Bodies calls a Saw Body. Designed for concrete cutters, it looks like a service body on the side, yet this is, as shown in the photos, a flatbed frame with things added to it, such as, tall storage compartments and smaller compartments on the side along with a metal wall frame. Inside this is an optional enclosed section sporting a 3-piece cargo enclosure, shown open and closed, and of course doors on the rear that are lockable. Closing up the entire rear area is an Interlift ILK Compact Cantilever liftgate doing double duty as a liftgate to raise and lower heavy saws while acting as an effective rear door.

How interesting to take a flatbed and create a whole new kind of body. It's a hybrid!

Rugby Steel Fold-Down Side Dump w/ Lift-n-Dump Liftgate

 

 

 

Larry Zech with Harbor Truck Bodies sent me these shots of a Rugby 2-3 yard dump with fold-down sides and a Tommy Lift-N-Dump dumping liftgate. These shots really show off the usefulness of the liftgate and it doubles as a dumping tailgate when needed. This unit also has a tarp mounted in the cab guard and a hitch. New Harbor Contractor Body Sold By Harbor Distributor Cascade Truck Body

Cascade Truck Body in Eugene, Oregon is showing off the new Harbor Contractor Body. It is new because Harbor Truck Bodies is now manufacturing their own line of flatbeds which is the base of the Contractor Body. Harbor distribuotor Cascade Truck Body has added their typical high quality, tasty touches to make it their own as well, such as the tasty little gates that look so nice, the mud flap holders that do a wonderful job that many don't think about and many other touches.

What is also interesting is that this Contractor Body is not the typical white. In a sea of white this baby stands apart. A sweet red chassis with black bed and black boxes and black rack. Sweet! Harbor Flatbed w/Steel Gates, HD Rack

Here's some photos of a nice flatbed with steel fold-down sides and swing-away rear gate system. This one was specially built for Mark Christopher Chevrolet. It also has a non-forklift loadable rack. Notice the center post when the two sides are folded down. That post is easily removed just by lifting it out, so this unit can easily be loaded from the side manually or with a forklift.

New Glass Body/Service Body Combo From Harbor Truck Bodies

Here's a sneak peek at a custom Glass/Service Body that Harbor Truck Bodies recently produced for Henry's Glass & Mirror in Bermuda Dunes, CA.

The body is half service body and half glass body. This particular unit is 8' long and mounts on a standard single rear wheel 3/4 or 1-ton pickup chassis. This gives it a lot of flexibility in the choice of chassis (cab styles, interior trim, 2/4 wheel drive, etc.) as well as maneuverability because of its relatively small size. As you can see, it is no bigger than the pickup parked next to it, albeit, slightly taller.

Harbor Standard Landscape Dump Body Has Lots Of Uses

The Harbor Landscape Dump Body: This is a nice all around use dump. It can be used as a Landscape Dump, Flatbed Dump, Debris Body, or Flatbed. The Body is our Harbor Truck Bodies 14' Landscape Dump Body with 40" solid MDO sides which are removable, and has a steel-framed rear gate section that is not removable where the gates can be parked fully opened. It began life as a 14' flatbed with 2" thick treated wood, 12" centers, flush mounted, shock resistant clearance lights, tapered apron and more. In addition, this has a class IV receiver, and two underbed boxes for storage.

This great body is shown mounted on a 2009 new Isuzu NPR-HD (NF2) with 14,500 GVWR, 132" wheelbase. Now, here's the best part of this truck: With a 132" wheelbase, this truck with it's 14' bed, will have a turning radius smaller than a full size pickup truck with an 8' bed. I know, it doesn't make sense, but trust me, it is true and it is amazing where this truck will go!
